Alexander Echeverria is a trial attorney whose practice focuses on criminal defense and family law, with additional experience in civil litigation. A former deputy prosecutor and public defender, Alexander brings substantial courtroom experience and a unique perspective to representing clients facing criminal charges and other high-stakes legal disputes.
Before entering private practice, Alexander served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Marion and Madison Counties, handling hundreds of criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors to major felonies. His assignments included specialized prosecution of serious felony, narcotics, firearms, gang-related, and sex offenses. During his time as a prosecutor, Alexander tried numerous cases to juries and the bench and regularly litigated suppression hearings, search warrant issues, and other contested criminal matters. He also previously served as a public defender and now represents clients in private criminal defense matters.
Alexander’s family law practice includes divorce, child custody, child support, paternity, protective orders, and post-decree modifications. He regularly appears in court for contested hearings and works to resolve cases efficiently when possible while remaining prepared to litigate when necessary.
Alexander also represents clients in civil litigation and has experience with jury trials, bench trials, summary judgment proceedings, mediation, and small claims matters.
Alexander earned his J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and his B.S. in Public Health from Indiana University Bloomington. He has been admitted to the Indiana Bar since 2018 and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Alexander was selected to the 2026 Super Lawyers Rising Stars list.
